• Why Volunteer Here?

  • The mission of Pioneer Clubs and Camp Cherith is to help children and youth put Christ in every aspect of life, to form healthy relationships and to develop positive feelings about themselves. Pioneer Clubs and Camp Cherith also assist adults in understanding children and their development in order to be able to minister more effectively to them.

We believe camp is an incredible opportunity to be used by God to shine His light and allow young women to grow their faith. We also believe God calls us to this discipleship role and uses how He has challenged, loved and grown us to reach out and support these young woman as His dearly loved children. Camp is an amazing opportunity and it may be just what He has designed for you in this coming summer!

The camper's health and safety are important to us.

Volunteer staff are selected for their Christian commitment, maturity and desire to serve others. Serving as an Alberta Camp Cherith staff member is an opportunity to minister to campers by modeling a healthy Christian lifestyle that honors God, His Word, all people and His creation.

Staff gain valuable leadership experience, find ways to share their skills and creativity and develop lasting friendships. Our new and experienced staff members also get together for a pre-camp training day. At least one staff member is a nurse and a physician is always on call.

The daily schedule is planned to allow for adequate rest for both campers and staff. Camper to Cabin Leader ratio is 7 to 1 and additional support staff bring the camper to staff ratio at 3 to 1.

If you would like more information about becoming a volunteer staff member for Alberta Camp Cherith, please email the Pathfinder/Trailblazer Director, the Challenge Program Director or the President. You will also be required to submit a staff application for approval.
