The campfire area is covered, so we can enjoy a campfire every night regardless of the weather! It is a fun time to wind down from the activities of the day, spend time singing silly songs and worshipping together, as well as hear from God's Word from our special speaker.
Each day campers explore the Word of God and memorize Scripture with their leader and cabin group.
Beach Day means playing in the sand, swimming, tubing, and canoeing at Burnt Stick Lake. It also means a meal out of the ordinary - or out of the dining hall at least - a picnic lunch!
Each cabin group (going into grades 5 & up) and their leaders spend a night sleeping in the huge teepee that is set up on the camp property. They have their own campfire, making it a special experience just for them!
The Challenge girls spend a day out at a mountain ledge, in the nearby foothills of the Rockies, rappelling and then scaling the same rock face to the top. The girls are taught about the different facets of climbing from experienced instructors.
Girls are introduced to the skill of archery under the supervision of leaders trained in this sport. Both weeks participate in archery.
The Challenge girls spend a day learning and practising the art of riflery. The girls have a chance to experience shooting different firearms at Teepee Pole's firing range located across the river from the camp. This activity is supervised by trained and experienced marksmen where safety is emphasised above all.
Some of the crafts we do are related to our theme for that camp year, and some aren't - you'll have to come find out which is which! We think you'll have fun either way!
Each evening before campfire the girls play field games which take them on adventures throughout the campsite. The teams are chosen at the beginning of the week and the girls compete towards team points.
Alberta Camp Cherith's location at Camp Teepee Pole is situated next to the James River. Every day weather permits, the girls have the opportunity to go tubing to and from specific points of the river.
